Just got back from Glacier trip. Stayed at Motel Lake McDonald for 2 nights. Bathroom was small but overall nice place to stay on west side of Glacier that give you access to going to the sun road. Easy walking distance to general store and Hotel Lake McDonald. Spent each night at the lake. We had 4 rooms booked. Staff checked with me beforehand about who could check in to rooms and if anyone needed special accommodations which I appreciated. Also, we left AirPods and a couple of shirts. Contacted motel and got all items back on our way back through the west side. Appreciated the staff helping to retrieve these lost items.

I stayed at Motel Lake McDonald for 5 nights as part of a Road Scholar trip to explore Glacier National Park. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean. The mattress in room 16 is very soft, a bit worn, and about ready to be replaced and as mentioned in other reviews, the shower, and bathroom in general are on the small side and there is little insulation between the rooms, so it can be a bit noisy, but all that is to be expected from an older motel; I was grateful to have accommodations at the end of hiking every day in Glacier National Park. The staff is very friendly, efficient, and professional. I experienced exceptional service from Ryan. The location of the motel is desirable too, within walking distance of a camp store and to the restaurant at the Lake McDonald Lodge. I will not hesitate to stay at Motel Lake McDonald on my next visit to Glacier National Park!

We were here for a Road Scholar tour and stayed on the ground floor in room #2. Our room had paneling covering every wall and the ceiling. It looked clean, beds and pillows were comfy, location was great. We brought a power strip with 2 prong adapter, but could have gotten by with the outlets provided. As mentioned in other reviews, the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors, the bathrooms are small, but that was not a concern for us. The problem I had was the air quality in the room was poor. I'm not sure if it was due to mold on the ceiling in the bathroom shower or maybe the paneling was dusty. Because it was cool, we kept our windows closed, which was a mistake. I needed to keep the bedsheet over my nose to keep from getting wheezy and coughing at night. I have never had breathing problems in the past. Our last night there, I discovered that if I kept the windows open, breathing was great. So if you can go with an attitude of glamping, with comfy beds, nice towels, a bathroom in your room, great location and keep your windows open, you will have a great stay. The staff are very nice, there is no daily room service but they provide you with extra towels. Unlike the McDonald Lake Lodge, there are not large crowds of people going in and out of the hotel at night, so it is quieter.

We stayed for 5 days as part of a Road Scholar Tour. Our room, 25, was relatively spacious with 2 queen beds with newer matresses, 2 lamps for decent lighting, 4 electrical outlets, and 2 windows that opened for ventilation. Carpeting was relatively new. The bathroom was bigger than in some rooms, but the shower stall was the same. The shower would be a challenge for tall or otherwise big people. Dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and body wash were in the shower, and soap and lotion were near the sink, which was small with a medicine cabinet and shelf for storage. A box of tissues was in the room. Take a 3-prong adapter for electrical devices. We did not need an extension cord, but you might in some rooms. We were on the second floor of the check-in building in the corner and experienced little external noise. The wi-fi was adequate for text, phone calls and email, but the bandwidth was limited. The staff were friendly and helpful. An ice machine was outside of our building on the other end. The camp store and pizza restaurant were adjacent to the motel, but we ate at the lodge. All in all, a decent place to stay with the amenities and lake nearby. Also cheaper than the lodge.

My husband and I enjoyed our 4 night stay at this motel. Many of the reviews mention the small bathroom, the thin walls, and lack of air circulation, especially for the price. These are not untrue, but they did nothing to make our stay any less enjoyable. First of all, we spent most of the day in the Park, so we really just cared about the comfy (slightly soft, but almost firm) beds, great linens, and mostly that we were located inside the Park. We ate at Russell's in the Lodge each night and were very happy with the food there. It's a short walk there and to the Lake front. Also, the camp store is very close and convenient for gifts and pre-made snacks/sandwiches for hiking during the day. We had trouble with the internet one night, but it was fixed the rest of the time. I took earplugs, but we had the fan on most of the time to keep the air circulated and didn't need them. Would have liked a small fridge, but were able to live without it. Being in the Park allows access to the Going to the Sun Road without a permit, plus you are closer to the in-Park trailheads, making it a bit easier to get parking. That is a huge benefit, which I was frankly happy to pay a bit more for. Staff was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
