This was meant to be a luxurious "safari tent" -like experience and it was priced as such, but the accommodations were uncomfortable and making guests comfortable is what luxury stays are all about.
The property has failed to provide good quality sleep - it was very noisy at night with the train horn waking us up every few hours ( I slept with noice cancelling headphones on) and there was super loud highway as well. they placed earplugs in the room, but that was useless
Also there were very stiff, uncomfortable and cheap pillows. For the price we have payed you would expect a luxurious bedding and those pillows were unacceptable. The furniture, while very aesthetically pleasing, was not comfortable to seat on.
Other less important things- there is one hairdryer for the whole camp which we were supposed to use and then bring back to the lobby tent - is a very cheap hairdryer. This was very inconvenient
The community fireplaces - not convenient at all. We had to go up or down the road to get there and most nights the seats around them were taken. There should be opportunity to have personal small fires by the tents. It would have been so nice to relax after running/ hiking all day by the fire and watch those beautiful stars and then go to bed.
The food was not bad, but the restaurant ambiance- it felt like an afterthought.
The location was convenient for the West Glacier visit.
The interior of the tent was very pretty and the camp area was overall nice. The bathroom facilities were always clean, and even though the nights were cold, the blankets were warm and the fireplace in the room was great to have.
There were plenty of clean high quality towels. The tea and coffee in the lobby were also high quality and great to have.
I was recognized as Hyatt globalist and given a credit to use during my stay.
So, in conclusion I liked how the place looked, but it wads not comfortable. I will definitely try other locations of Under Canvas as they there is a potential and hopefully they are better. However, there is a better clamping experience around.

Published Date: Sep, 12, 2024 Travel Date: Sep, 1, 2024 Rating: 5 I booked this stay as part of a larger trip including Canada for my husband's 40th birthday. When we first arrived, we were greeted and instructed on the use of our wood burning stove and shower. We were then escorted up to the parking area and rode a golf cart to our tent with our luggage. The tent we stayed in was the deluxe which included a toilet, shower, and sink. This was definitely worth the extra money. The shower is as you would expect a pull chain, on a timer type shower. The water did get very warm, but would get cold requiring you to pull the chain again. However, it was still pleasant at the end of the day after hiking and activities. (Make sure to start your fire first so you can warm up immediately) The bed was very comfortable and the room had plenty of seating both inside and out with areas to hang your stuff. Charging stations were offered for your phones as well as battery powered lanterns that provided ample light. It did get chilly overnight (in the 50's) but there were plenty of blankets on the bed and with the wood burning stove, we stayed pretty comfortable. In fact, I got hot eventually under all the blankets. I read other reviews and people complained about traffic noise and the train. Yes, you're right off Hwy 2 and there is traffic, but not as much towards the evening and I didn't wake up at night to the sounds of traffic. There are trains that go through the area fairly regularly (including overnight) and they are required to blow their horn, but honestly I find it soothing and if you hike enough you'll be passed out anyways. That's the point, isn't it? Haha! I thought this was the best of both worlds, some camping and a real bed. There is NO electricity, but I had fairly good cell service the whole time. You cannot have any food in your tent, but definitely pack snacks and leave them in your car. For all you coffee drinkers, my husband and I packed a tiny camping can and little mount that you put a fire starting cube underneath (I'm not sure of what they're called officially) and we packed our own coffee and powdered creamer. We made our own coffee in the tent because I didn't want to walk down to the reception area at 0430 or 0500. They do have coffee that early, but I preferred making it in our tent and drinking it outside in my pjs and coat. I will definitely stay at Under Canvas again. Any bad reviews they get is because the people don't pack for the weather, understand what camping is, and have hotel expectations.

Many times it was as though the train was right next to your tent. No nature or stars at night. Staff were more focused on visiting with each other rather than attending to their customers.
