Yellowstone's Absaroka Lodge
Expensive but you’re probably paying for the location

The hotel is easy to find and is very close to Yellowstone’s North Entrance. The rooms are clean and comfortable and ours had a balcony overlooking the river, but it was a little tired and could do with a refresh. Gardiner is a great place to stay if you are visiting Yellowstone, as it so close, which is probably why the rooms cost so much. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

The room was very clean, kitchen was wonderfully stocked, bed was very comfortable. All rooms have decks overlooking the Yellowstone River with small table and chairs. Sitting there in the evening, we were visited by female elk with babies and mule deer.
Perfect stay, great accommodations!

As I understand it, each room has its own balcony/deck overlooking the river. It was lovely and very relaxing. My room was clean and well appointed…met all my needs. They do not offer breakfast and it was a bit of a challenge finding somewhere to have a sit-down breakfast each morning. We found something but there was not much chance for variety. It was a quiet and peaceful atmosphere and gave us quick and easy access to Yellowstone. The staff was accommodating and treated us well.
Enjoyed Our Stay

Informative and kind, he made check-in very easy! All of the staff there were great. We stayed for two nights - very convenient location - less than 5 minutes to Yellowstone's entrance. Walked to dinner both nights (Iron Horse Bar & Grill and the Cowboy Grille), as well as shops and ice cream. You can even walk to the Roosevelt Arch, where we saw elk crossing each night - there were even a few near the lodge.
We had a lovely balcony overlooking the Yellowstone River (two chairs and a table). The room was clean (other than a few spiders, but being so close to the river that's not unexpected). Microwave, fridge, A/C, and great TV. Comfortable bed. We would stay again!
