Explorer Cabins At Yellowstone
A good place to stay. Do a walk through first.

We contacted the front desk four times during our four night stay for various maintenance tasks: the fireplace wouldn’t light, the safe was locked, the refrigerator’s freezer was iced up and there was no hot water briefly. All of these items were addressed immediately. They had to come back twice for the fireplace. We were satisfied with their prompt response, but all of these issues could have been addressed with closer attention to periodic maintenance. Overall we were happy with our stay.

The cabins are near the west entrance of the park, and come with access to the indoor pool and free laundry service at the Gray Wolf lodge (easy walking distance across the street). The cabins are new, clean, and came with rainy day activities (games, books to read), as well as binoculars and walking sticks! There is a communal fire pit to roast complimentary s’mores, and on some nights you can hear the wolves howling from the conservation center across the highway. The gas fireplace in the cabin was cozy.
The beds were comfortable, bathroom shower had great water pressure. Service was excellent. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Only a few Miles’s from the west entrance of Yellowstone Park. Thecabin is spacious with a large bedroom with a king bed and large flat TV., a large bathroom and a separate living room with another large screen TV and kitchenette with all the pots, pans, utensils, appliances and a nice gas fireplaces. These explorer cabins are partof the Grey Wolf Inn. Very quiet unit. Nice rustic feel We would definitely return.

Cozy cabin in downtown

The landscaping and Adirondack chairs around the fire pit made me feel like I was at a remote destination, but a short walk allowed me all the perks of being in town. The cabin was very comfortable and I appreciated the thoughtful amenities (fire-pit-lit each night, s'more kits, binoculars, walking sticks, etc). I hadn't realized we booked a handicapped-accessible cabin, but used the ramp to wheel in our luggage and found I liked the fold-down shower seat!
My only negatives include the paltry amount of cutlery (2 forks?) & dishware; I recommend they discard non-stick skillets with damaged coatings. That said, we were very happy with our choice and would stay here again.
Great home base for Yellowstone Trip

We stayed in a single cabin, and it was perfect. It was more spacious than I was anticipating, with a large living space w/fire place and kitchen with a dishwasher, mini fridge, and stovetop. The decor was very fitting with where we were, and included National Park games, walking sticks, binoculars and a lamp. There was a smore kit and fire pit outside.
The fireplace did stop working at one point, but we called the front desk, went out to dinner, and by the time we came back it was fixed. The quickest fix from a hotel that I have experienced.
The location is walking-distance to restaurants and shops around the town (I would suggest Madison Crossing & Wild West Pizzeria for food). But the best thing about the location is the less than 5 minute drive to the entrance of the Park. That entrance is absolutely gorgeous, and you can get an early start on your day.
