The Inn is located about 10 miles from the town of Columbia Falls and is only about a 15-minute drive to the West Entrance of Glacier National Park. It sits on 6 acres that offers a pond, fire pit, hot tub, and plenty of places to stroll. The owner, Marguerite is a wonderful host. She is a pleasure to talk to, enjoys showing you around the property, and has many recommendations for what to do, see, or eat in the area. For example, we were driving to Missoula after our stay, and she recommend a beautiful scenic drive along Flathead Lake that we really enjoyed. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We loved the soft mattress in our room. The property has many places to enjoy outside. The inn itself has a sunroom that you can enjoy, and a living room with a wood burner that is cozy on a chilly evening. The second floor offers a kitchen and dining area. A selection of coffee and teas are always available to enjoy. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay near GNP, I highly recommend Moss Mountain Inn.

Moss Mountain Inn Is Very Accommodating and Private

From Moss Mountain Inn, it is an easy 15 minutes to Glacier National Park and 30 minutes to the friendly resort town of Whitefish. It's just 9 minutes into Columbia Falls for groceries or out-to-eat. Innkeeper Marguerite thought of all the nice touches, from having bear spray & bug spray to having postcard postage available. She also let us borrow a cooler for a day trip we took and lawn chairs to sit by the nearby river confluence. The ample continental-style breakfast and grab-and-go snacks were welcomed. Marguerite is happy to act as concierge and gives great advice. We really appreciated her tip to take a gondola ride at Whitefish ski resort and have a cocktail at the top. It was very warm when we visited, so during the daytime, we appreciated being able to use our room A/C. A locally owned chalet with limited rooms means sometimes my spouse and I were on the property by ourselves, but even when other guests were there, it was plenty private and quiet. My husband appreciated interacting with the resident outdoor cats. We both enjoyed reading our books on the private balcony. Thanks for the great stay!

Really appreciated all the special touches, like the books of history of the area around to read, Marguerite’s personal recommendations for food and activities, the guest fridge and snacks. It was a comfortable, relaxing, and beautiful stay.

The location is perfect because it's away from the masses, but close to the park.

From the warm greeting by our host, to the comfortable, clean bedrooms and many options for relaxing and hanging out in common spaces, Moss Mountain is a must. We were just 15-20 minutes to the entry into GNP, very convenient and easy drive. Our host always had a supply of snacks and breakfast items out for the taking. We had two of the four rooms and felt like the entire house was to ourselves! Plenty of places to read, enjoy the many views outside, and hang out with our family. I would choose the Inn again and again.
