Desert Rose Resort & Cabins

Paper thin walls and floors

This place had very thin walls, as you can feel and hear when someone is walking in the room next to you, above you, outside on the deck. This was not relaxing at all, and extremely irritating. It has more of a motel feel, than a resort. I would say that it's not worth the price, but again, there's not many options. Breakfast was free and standard. The restaurant was average. If I have to return for business, I'll look to stay at the other "luxury" property.

Thin walls and floor at the desert rose

What are you suppose to do at night time with this surprise. Not a lot of options in town. Also you should not be charged a resort fee when the restaurant wasn't even open. Rooms were clean but thin walls. could hear people walking above us all night.

Nice Place to Stay in Bluff

Published Date: Jan, 27, 2025 Travel Date: Apr, 1, 2024 Rating: 4 We just stayed for one night on our way from Moab to Monument Valley. Bluff is a small town and it is a bit surprising to have such a nice, large resort-type inn there. The desert, river, and cliff scenery in the town and from the inn is quite lovely and there are quite a few recreational area, historical sites, etc in the area. The Desert Rose worked well for us. The room was clean and comfortable though a bit dated and noisy (we didn't get much noise from the main road, but the wooden porch outside our room seemed to result in quite a lot of noise from conversations plus luggage being rolled along it). Still, we'd certainly stay again if traveling through the area. The staff was nice, the breakfast was pretty good, and the adjacent restaurant was quite good. We didn't use the pool or other amenities, but they seem to be good based on other reviews.

The main building is a large wooden lodge but we stayed in one of the cabins. The cabin was comfortable and clean but had one major inconvenience… one side of the bed had neither a nightstand nor a reading lamp. We had to have the main overhead light on for my husband to read in bed and he had to walk over to the dresser if he wanted a drink of water, check the time etc during the night. A small thing but very annoying. The resort has just added another very attractive wooden building housing some more rooms and the pool complex. The pool is indoor and one of the largest hotel pools I’ve seen recently. Breakfast wasn’t great but they did provide china plates and metal cutlery (an exception for many hotels nowadays) so well done to them for that. The hotel restaurant was closed when we were there but we walked down to Comb Ridge and really enjoyed it. Good food and a good atmosphere. Staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly.
